Everything built to date, in one place.

The product that is running right now, the design work that is finished, and the things that are not built. Nothing here is a plan or an intention. Every green row is something you can click and use today.

Snapshot taken 08/01/2026. Functional state checked against the live API and the live app, not against notes.
Update 08/02/2026: Dial Tone shipped across every screen except the homepage, which stays the approved splash on purpose. The studio is renamed and lives at /line. Onboarding is one page. The design gap below is closed, 13 of 13. Translucent gold is banned; the guide is law. Remaining unbuilt: the four vendor decisions, Stripe, email, SMS, TURN.

What is built and working

All of this is live at pay-phone.pages.dev against the API at pay-phone-api.fly.dev. Every automated test passes, 32 of 32, run at snapshot time. Sign-in is in test mode, so any email address will let you in.

CapabilityStateSee it
Sign in, email magic linkNo passwords. A link signs you in. Right now that link comes back on screen instead of by email, because no mail service is connected yet.LiveOpen
Guest checkoutA fan can book with an email only, no account.LiveOpen
Claim your handleA creator claims their own link. If someone else already owns that name, the second person is turned away.LiveOpen
Scheduled call pricingThe creator sets the 5, 10 and 20 minute prices. The price is decided on the server, so nobody can edit it in their browser to pay less.LiveOpen
Live jump-on pricingWhat a fan pays to jump on while the creator is live, and the longest any one caller can stay.LiveOpen
Hours drive real slotsThe days and the time window a creator picks are what actually produce the bookable times. Change the hours and the available slots change with them.LiveOpen
Booking and expiryA fan picks a length and a time and gets a receipt. If a held slot never gets paid for, it releases itself so the time is not lost.LiveOpen
The call, 1:1 videoJust the two of them, connected directly browser to browser. The clock only starts once both people are actually on the call.Live
Add time mid-callA fan can buy more minutes without hanging up, and the extra time is charged separately.Live
Calls always close outIf a phone dies or someone closes the tab, the server still ends the call and settles the money. Nothing gets stuck half finished.Live
Go live, on airThe creator opens their line and fans can jump on. If someone is waiting, the creator gets a knock. A scheduled call rolls straight into a live one.Live
Revenue shareYou set the default cut the platform takes, and can override it for any single creator. Every amount is worked out in whole cents in one place, which is what killed the bug where a $1 call paid out nothing.Live
Payout ledgerOne running record of every payout. What a creator sees as their earnings is added up from that same record, so the two can never disagree.LiveOpen
RatingsThe fan rates the call afterwards. The average score shows on the creator’s page, the written note only goes to the creator.Live
Cancel and declineEither side can back out of a booked call, and the money goes the right way depending on who cancelled.Live
RecordingsThe fan uploads the recording. Only an admin can pull it back, and the link cannot be guessed or forwarded to someone else.Live
Operator consoleOverview, Verifications, Refunds, Reports, Creators, Payouts, Calls, Settings, Schedule, Analytics.LiveOpen
AnalyticsMoney and call volume by day, week, month or all time, with a 14 day chart.LiveOpen
The Phone BookFans opt into a creator’s list from their page, one tap if signed in, an email if not. Everyone is tagged Paid or on the list, worked out from real completed calls rather than stored. The creator sees the split, recent joins, and can compose a promo. Going live rings the whole list once. The console has a Phone books tab with a conversion rate per creator.LiveOpen
The whole product on a phoneEvery screen was rebuilt for a phone, not shrunk. The top links collapse into a menu button, the console’s side list becomes tabs you swipe across, and wide tables become one card per row so nothing runs off the edge.Live
Functionality · part two

What is not built

Four of these are waiting on a decision from you, not on engineering time. The product runs end to end today, it just runs on mocked money.

CapabilityStateBlocked on
Taking real moneyPayments are simulated. Every payout row in the console says “Paid (test)” and no card has ever been charged. I checked the live server today and payments are switched off.Test mode onlyNeeds your Stripe keys
Sending emailNothing can actually send mail. Receipts and sign-in links are generated but never leave the building. Not wiredNeeds a vendor
Sending SMSNo texting service is connected, so the product cannot send a text message. This is what holds the Phone Book back: promos and go-live rings are written and stored, but nothing actually leaves the building. Not wiredNeeds a vendor
A relay for difficult networksCalls connect directly today, which works nearly everywhere. On some office and hotel wifi a direct connection is blocked and the call needs to be bounced through a middleman server. That server does not exist yet.Not builtNeeds Cloudflare Realtime
Native appStopping someone screenshotting a call only works in a real iPhone or Android app. A website cannot block it, so this is unbuildable until there is an app.Not built
Public directoryLeft out on purpose. There is no browsable list of who is on Pay Phone, because a payphone is a private link you get from the person it belongs to.By design
The single biggest gap is Stripe. Everything else in the money path is finished: prices are server owned, the split is computed in cents in one place, the ledger is real and the console reconciles against it. The moment real keys go in, the same rows stop saying "test".
Debt

Bugs, and what happened to them

ItemStateSee it
Studio overflows sideways on a phoneThe creator’s Studio page was wider than the screen and slid left and right. Fixed: each length is now its own boxed row that wraps, so Remove plainly belongs to the price above it. Measured clean at 390, 375 and 320 on the live app.Fixed 08/01/2026, awaiting your QAOpen
Old mockup pages still sell a directoryThe front page of this site is now an index of the work instead of a fake storefront, and the last two directory links are gone. The old front page and the old browse page are both kept and still reachable, each carrying a banner saying it has been superseded.Fixed 08/01/2026, awaiting your QAOpen
404 pageUsed to send people to a directory that does not exist. Rewritten and live since 07/28/2026.Fixed, awaiting your QAOpen

Eight directions, and how far each one goes

Four directions are built across the full run of five screens, so you can judge a language on the whole product. Four more exist as a homepage only. Nothing here is wired into the live app yet, this is all still a decision waiting on you.

Design · the gap

Screens that exist in the product but have no new design

Closed, 08/02/2026. This section once claimed 13 undesigned screens; the count was wrong, and now it is moot: all 13 are designed in Dial Tone AND shipped to the live product. Every chip links to its design page. The full product at phone width is at /dt-mobile.

Everything

Every page ever made

81 pages on the mockups site, plus 54 pages in the archive that had no URL at all until 07/31/2026. That archive is where the iPhone boards live, roughly 500 device frames across it.
